Laser Tattoo Removal

Have you got tattoo regret or just looking to have it covered up?

Laser tattoo removal is a sophisticated process that uses high-intensity light beams to break down unwanted ink without damaging the surrounding skin. During a session, the laser emits ultra-fast pulses of energy that are absorbed by the tattoo pigment, causing the ink particles to shatter into tiny fragments. Once these particles are sufficiently broken down, your body’s immune system naturally flushes them away over the following weeks. Because different colors absorb different wavelengths of light, specialized lasers are used to target specific shades, gradually fading the art until it is no longer visible.

FAQs

How much does it cost?

Prices start from £40 per session for a small tattoo and then increase depending on the size of your tattoo.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no "one-size-fits-all" answer, as every body and every tattoo is different. You will start off with a free consultation where we will complete a patch test so we can se how your body reacts to the process.

Most clients require between 5 to 10 sessions for complete removal. Factors like the age of the tattoo, the depth of the ink, and your individual immune response all play a role in the timeline.

Does it hurt?

The short answer is Yes, most people describe the sensation as similar to a heavy rubber band snapping against the skin or the splatter of hot bacon grease. While it can be uncomfortable, the pulses are extremely fast. Numbing creams are available from a pharmacist or online to help reduce the pain and make the experience as tolerable as possible.

Can all colors be removed?

Modern laser technology is incredibly effective, but some colors are easier to erase than others. Black and dark blue inks are the easiest to treat because they absorb all laser wavelengths. Fluorescent colors, light greens, and yellow can be more stubborn and may require an alternative treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Immediately after treatment, it is common to experience redness, swelling, and a temporary "frosting" (a white oxidation) of the skin. Some clients may develop minor blistering or scabbing, which is a normal part of the healing process. Following our aftercare instructions is vital to prevent scarring or pigment changes.

How long do I have to wait between sessions?

Patience is key! We typically schedule sessions 6 to 8 weeks apart. This gap allows your skin to heal fully and gives your immune system enough time to carry away the shattered ink particles.

Will it leave a scar?

When performed by a trained professional using the correct settings, the risk of scarring is very low. Most "scarring" associated with removal is actually pre-existing tissue damage from when the tattoo was originally applied, which becomes visible once the ink is cleared away.
